Nekomata Okayu also known as Okayu was a short-lived LARP who was killed off only a day after her launch in the JesterJones' Homeless Shelter Discord server (JJHS). She is notable for being one of the oldest LARPs to suffer a sudden character death shortly after creation and her situation draws parallels to what happened with the LARP Fritter. She is an interpretation of Nekomata Okayu from Hololive, and judging by her short-lived appearance, she had a much different personality than the character she was based off of.
She is assumed to be played by the roleplayer(s) behind the other Hololive LARPs like Inugami Korone and Shirakami Fubuki, due to sharing a similar profile picture design as the other two and being launched in the same server with similar syntax. It is unknown whether she was played by Shill or the roleplayer behind Korone, but regardless they have completely abandoned this character and she remains dead until this day, although her account is completely intact.
Origin
The LARP Shirakami Fubuki hinted at Okayu's existence in April 2021 in JJHS and to the user !meow. She would also make a comment about her on May 10 in the same server. Nekomata Okayu's Discord account was created on the same day. Over the coming days, her account's information would be changed into its contemporary state, with a proper name, bio, status, and a proper profile picture before her launch on May 16. It's assumed that she did a soft-launch with her fellow Hololive LARPs, but this is only speculated, as no evidence of this exists.
Launch and Death
Okayu would make her official launch in JJHS on May 16, 2021, much to the users' dismay and annoyance. She would introduce herself and start bantering with the users in the main chat. Due to her similarities with the other LARPs present in the server, she was quickly hated for being yet another annoying roleplayer roleplaying yet another Hololive member. After being called out for being a fake, or a parody account of the real Okayu, one of JJHS' moderators, [Horn]y, would mute her for 5 minutes.
One of the friendlier moderators would notice the mute and remove it after a shorter period. When she inevitably started talking again, she would still get insults from the active members in chat, with one member denying her legitimacy entirely. Another user would ask if she was the same person behind the Korone account. She would stonewall the user, feigning ignorance to the matter. She would ask them if what they were doing to her was trolling, to no avail.
Okayu would last 30 minutes in the server before being banned for 5 minutes by [Horn]y. After 5 minutes, she would return to the server and be banned again about 15 minutes later for 10 minutes. She would return and talk for 37 more minutes and be banned again by the same moderator for an hour. Not learning her lession, she would rejoin the chat 6 hours later, and talk for about half an hour.
The next day, she would begin talking to the members as normal, bantering with others, and being too nice and too questioning for a member of an anarchy server. She would talk for 3 minutes before being banned again by the same hateful moderator as before for another hour. She would return about 5 hours later and say “Allah?” and get banned again, by the same mod, for 5 hours. After the 5 hours was up, she would promptly rejoin the chat and start berating the moderator that tormented her. She would then be permanently from JesterJones' Homeless Shelter, threatening the life of her character. It's unknown what happened after that day, but her account as remained abandoned and intact ever since.
Legacy and relevance
Okayu is known to be one of the most mysterious LARPs ever created, launched, and killed. To this day, no one knows who roleplayed as her, what exactly happened to her account, or her exact affiliation with the other Hololive LARPers.
Filled With Nothing, being enamored with LARPs, would remember her fondly and dig deeper in regards to her origin and affiliations in June 2022. When Filled asked the then-active Korone about it, she would state that Okayu had never used Discord, but that she was still her friend.2) When Filled said that he remembered there being someone called Nekomata Okayu and after a day or two she was banned by one of the mods of the server, she would say that she didn't believe him, and that he should provide evidence. After seeing provided evidence, Korone would say that she may be an imposter with the intent of humiliating her, and that she was sus.
Filled would bring her up again on January 5, 2023. He brought up screenshots from the aforementioned conversation between him and Korone about her (although censored), and 355mL, the LARP present at the time would recognize Korone from the screenshot but provide no further information on the matter. It's presumed that they talked more about the matter privately, as 355mL was known for being self-aware.
